Lesson 2. Can We Trust the Bible?
According to 2 Timothy 3:16, 17, who inspired the scriptures? What are some features of the scriptures?
The Bible predicted several details of Jesus' life over 500 years before he was born. Some examples are:
-
Where he would be born. Micah 5:2,
-
That he would ride on a donkey. Zechariah 9:9,
-
That his bones would not be broken during his execution. Psalms 34:20,
-
That he would be betrayed for 30 pieces of silver. Zechariah 11:12
The Bible predicted Cyrus would conquer Babylon nearly 200 years in advance. Isaiah 44:24 - 45:8
The Bible predicted Babylon would never be rebuilt. Now sitting 55 miles south of Baghdad are the ruins of Babylon, and for more than 2 millennia, no one has been able to rebuild it. Isaiah 13:19, 20
The Bible contains instructions for burying human waste before modern science. Deuteronomy 23:13

How was all this possible? Who told the Bible writers this information? 1 Peter 1:21
Is there any other book that better explains where we came from, what will happen in the future, and how to best live in the meantime?
